Employment services
Innovative employment solutions that create inclusive workplaces
For more than 15 years, we have partnered with governments, community organizations, employers, and job seekers to develop and deliver employment programs that create meaningful opportunities while strengthening Alberta’s workforce.
Our multidisciplinary team brings together expertise in employment counselling, trauma-informed practice, disability inclusion, community development, organizational development, mental health, investigations, and workforce engagement. This breadth of experience allows us to develop practical, person-centred solutions that respond to the needs of both job seekers and employers.
All of our employment services are designed and delivered in accordance with current government legislation, policy, and evidence-based employment practices.
Our approach
Employment success is about more than finding a job. Sustainable employment requires the right support, meaningful opportunities, and workplaces where people can contribute and succeed.
Our employment programs are grounded in five principles:
Person-centred and strengths-based
We start with what people bring, not simply the barriers they face.
Trauma-informed and culturally responsive
We create supportive environments that recognize individual experiences, circumstances, and needs.
Evidence-based and outcome focused
We use established practices and measurable outcomes to inform program design and delivery.
Collaborative with employers and community partners
We build strong relationships with the people and organizations that make successful employment possible.
Focused on sustainable employment
We look beyond job placement to support the skills, confidence, connections, and workplace relationships that contribute to long-term success.
Active employment programs
We currently deliver employment programs that help people build skills, confidence, connections, and pathways to meaningful work.
Our programs are designed around the people they serve, recognizing that barriers to employment are different for everyone. Through individualized support, practical employment preparation, employer connections, and ongoing guidance, we help participants move toward sustainable employment and greater independence.

Inclusion has been part of our work from the beginning
Our commitment to inclusive employment began long before Outcome was established.
Before founding the company, our Director developed Inclusion by Design®, a trademarked Diversity and Inclusion Assessment Tool created specifically for small and medium-sized employers. The assessment helps organizations identify barriers to inclusion and develop practical strategies to create more diverse, accessible, and welcoming workplaces.
As the creator of Inclusion by Design®, our Director was invited to present at conferences and professional events across Canada, sharing leading practices in workplace inclusion, disability employment, and employer engagement.
That early work continues to influence how we approach employment today: looking beyond job placement to understand the people, workplaces, and systems that shape employment success.
Employment expertise in action
Our experience extends across a range of employment and workforce initiatives, including specialized services for people with disabilities, newcomers, women experiencing barriers to employment, and individuals navigating complex personal circumstances.
These projects have shaped our understanding of what people need to succeed at work and what employers need to create workplaces where diverse employees can thrive.
Employment Services for Persons with Disabilities
Designed and delivered customized employment services that recognized individual strengths while addressing barriers to employment. Services included comprehensive employment planning, vocational assessment, work simulations, paid work exposure opportunities, employer engagement, and ongoing workplace support.
Trauma-Informed Employment Supports
Developed an employment model for individuals experiencing mental health challenges, physical or medical limitations, substance use recovery, and complex trauma. Services focused on building confidence, resilience, workplace readiness, and the skills needed for long-term employment success.
Employment Services for New Canadians
Supported newcomers as they navigated the Canadian labour market through career planning, workplace culture orientation, employer connections, job search strategies, and individualized employment supports. The approach recognized the value of international education and experience while helping participants understand and navigate Canadian workplace expectations.
Women Investing in New Skills
Developed a specialized employment program for women rebuilding their lives after domestic or family violence. The program combined career development, confidence building, skills training, employment preparation, and individualized coaching to help participants work toward financial independence and long-term career success.
Employer Inclusion Initiatives
Worked with employers to create more inclusive workplaces through customized hiring strategies, workplace accommodation planning, disability inclusion, supervisor coaching, and ongoing consultation. The initiatives focused on helping organizations recruit, support, and retain diverse talent.

Meaningful employment can change lives. It can build confidence, increase independence, strengthen families, and create a greater sense of connection to community.
At the same time, employers benefit when they have the support and tools to attract, develop, and retain a diverse workforce.
We bring these perspectives together to create employment solutions that work for people, employers, and communities.
